About the web site

The Léonie Sonning Music Foundation Web site is intended to:

• generate publicity and direct attention to current Prize winners and grant recipients
• inform the music-minded public about the Léonie Sonning Music Foundation and its activities
• provide the media with information about both current and former prize winners and grant recipients
• document Foundation activities for internal and external purposes

The Web site has been updated with pages concerning:

• post-2001 grant recipients, updates provided by the recipients themselves and covering a period of up to two years after the grant award
• pre-2001 grant recipients, updated if desired by the recipients or the Foundation

Note: The pages devoted to Prize laureates are not updated.

Errors and omissions

When the Web site was first posted in January 2002, there were some omissions in both texts and images. These gaps are being filled where possible.

The descriptions of Prize laureates during the period 1959-2001 were written by Birgit Tengberg-Hansen in autumn 2001.
