The Music Prize

The Board of Directors cooperates with concert organisers and other institutions in the music world to hold the yearly Prize Concert, as well as a number of additional events and concerts in connection with it. The aim is to present the recipient’s artistic stature in its entirety, with emphasis on its significance in a contemporary context.

The purpose of these activities is to create a vital connection between the recipient and the Danish professional music scene, including the academic environment. With the King as patron of and participant in the Prize Concert, it is also hoped that the concert helps strengthen public attention on classical music in Denmark.

The Talent Prize

The Foundation finances the production of dedicated promotional material in which the talents are presented artistically through music videos and personally in interview form.

Through the website, social media, press releases etc., the board ensures that the activities of the Léonie Sonning Music Prize are made available and communicated both nationally and internationally.
