Large-scale festival
With award recipient Pierre-Laurent Aimard
Pierre-Laurent Aimard will be presented with the Léonie Sonning Music Prize 2022 at a magnificent concert in the DR Koncerthus on the 7th of October. Here, for the first time, the award recipient will perform with the Royal Danish Orchestra conducted by Sylvain Cambreling.
The Deputy Orchestra Director, Adam Stadnicki, is thrilled to be playing with the award recipient:
“It is a pleasure for The Royal Danish Orchestra to play at the Léonie Sonning’s award ceremony 2022. We are looking forward to performing with the award recipient, Pierre-Laurent Aimard. Aimard is ultimately one of the world’s very best and most sought-after pianists, so getting him to come to Copenhagen and play three works with him is extremely inspiring for the orchestra.”
As a part of the Léonie Sonning Music Prize 2022, the Danish audience will once again have the opportunity to experience this year’s prize winner when the 64-year-old Frenchman will be celebrated with a magnificent portrait festival in Copenhagen and Aarhus from the 4th – 9th October 2022.
The program for the portrait festival is wide-ranging, and in addition to the award concert, the main character can be experienced at two recitals and as a teacher at a masterclass and in an artist talk at prominent addresses such as the Black Diamond, The Royal Danish Academy of Music, and Aarhus Concert Hall. In addition, Pierre-Laurent Aimard will also perform on Sunday the 29th of May at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk.
At the prize concert with The Royal Danish Orchestra on the 7th of October at 7.30 PM, Pierre-Laurent Aimard will be soloist at three recitals.
