Léonie Sonning Music Foundation donates 1 million to young talents
Léonie Sonning Music Foundation support every year the next generation of composers, conducters, musicians or singers from the Nordic countries. This year DKK 100.000 will be donated to 10 young talents. The purpose is to continuously support artistic develop ent of the young generation.
Every year, the Léonie Sonning Music Foundation honors a number of the most promising young musicians with the Léonie Sonning Music Foundations Talent Award. A wide range of very different young musicians have again this year been chosen from all over Denmark and the Nordic neighboring countries. The 10 selected recipients, in addition to the recognition from one of Denmark’s most established music foundations, also receive an amount of DKK 100,000 in the form of a scholarship to further develop their individual talent.
Chairman of the Léonie Sonning Music Foundation, Esben Tange, explains the motivation behind the Talent Award:
“To develop talent not only require willpower, but also time, inspiration, and an opportunity to use the proper instrument and equipment. That is why it is a pleasure for us at Léonie Sonning Music Foundation to help 10 extraordinary and very different talents further in their individual musical journey. To their own benefit and in the belief that our music life will thereby become a little richer – which is not so little.”
