Thomas Storm

Thomas Storm has performed with Odense Symphony on several occasions, both as a soloist and compère at a number of schools and family concerts. Most recently as a soloist in Orff’s Carmina Burana. In 2009 he made his debut at The Royal Danish Theatre in the role of Moralès in “Carmen” and Le Gerolier in Poulenc’s “Les dialogues des Carmélites”. In the 2010/11 season Thomas Storm played Schaunard in The Danish Royal Theatre’s production of Puccini’s “La Bohème” with, among others, Anna Netrebko.

Biography

Thomas Storm was born in 1982. In 2007 he gained his BA from The Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Southern Denmark, where he studied under Lars Waage. That same year he won 1st prize in the ‘Friends of Opera’ competition for young singers. In 2008 he started at The Royal Opera Academy, where he studied under Professor Kirsten Buhl Møller. In connection with his education he has worked with such coaches as Michael Eliasen, Fiona McSherry, Rachel Andrist, James Johnson, Phillip Langridge and Neville Dove.

In the 2010/11 season Thomas Storm played Schaunard in The Danish Royal Theatre’s production of Puccini’s La Bohème with, among others, Anna Netrebko. In 2011 he played Ottone in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Royal Opera Academy. That same summer he took part in a master class with Bo Skovhus organised by the Franz Schubert Society.
As a concert singer, Thomas Storm has taken part in Orff’s Carmina Burana, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, Schubert’s Mass in G Major, Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit pour Nöel, Larsson’s God in Disguise, Grieg’s Four Hymns and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle.
