Anna Maria Wierød

has completed the soloist class and holds an MA in classical singing and Renaissance vocal ensemble from The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg, Hochschule für Künste Bremen and Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. She has studied under Anthony Rooley, Evelyn Tubb, Bodil Øland, Harry van der Kamp and Lars Thodberg Bertelsen.

Anna Maria Wierød is part of the international early music environment and has been on tour in Denmark and most of Europe as a soloist with ensembles such as Pantagruel, Balthasar-Neumann-Chor, Ensemble Zimmermann, Ensemble SYD & Musica Ficta. She is co-founder and chairperson of the AkadeMidt music society, where as a soloist, idea-maker and producer of e.g. opera in waterparks, concerts in nature, children’s opera etc. she re-conceives the classical concert and creates scenic experiences in evocative surroundings.

Scholarship

The scholarship of DKK 60,000 will be used for private study under the voice teacher Gregory Lamar in New York and to take part in a dancing master class in Sevilla. Also for a demo recording of arias with the pianist Ulrich Stærk.
