Benedikte Damgaard

was born in 1986. She made her debut in January 2014 from the soloist class at The Royal Danish Academy of Music, having studied the violin under Serguei Azizian, and chamber music with the Copenhagen Piano Quartet under Jens Elvekjær and Tim Frederiksen. She made her debut as a soloist at the age of 15 with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, since when she has appeared on several occasions as an orchestral soloist, her performances including such works as Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante with Copenhagen Phil.

As a chamber musician, she has given concerts in various European countries, and in 2013, together with Copenhagen Piano Quartet, she won the Val Tidone International Chamber Music Competition.

Scholarship from the Léonie Sonning Music Foundation

The scholarship of Kr. 60,000 used for studies under Erika Geldsetzer, London, Kazimierz Skowronek, Katowice, and Stephan Picard, Berlin.
