Troels Roland

Completed his MA (with top marks) at The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus,. At present he is studying in the soloist class at RDAM under Anne Øland, Søren Rastogi and Friedrich Gürtler.

Troels is active as an accompanist and chamber musican, and in August 2014 he performed Schubert’s great ‘Winterreise’ song cycle with the bass-baritone Simon Duus in a direct transmission from P2 Koncerten.

He has also worked as a pianist in the critically acclaimed production of Mozart’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ at Den Fynske Opera with the opera company Non Tardar. Troels Roland has previously received financial support from Idella-fonden and Den Böhmske Fond.

He has given concerts in Scandinavia, USA, Germany, Russia and Italy.

At RDAM, his focus being on accompanying and rehearsing. And additionally taken part in master classes with the Austrian pianist Helmut Deutsch.

Scholarship

The scholarship of DKK 60,000 will be used for piano studies under Helmut Deutsch in Vienna and lessons with Richard Hetherington, rehearser and assistant conductor at Covent Garden in London.
