Christine Bach Tofft

LÉONIE SONNING TALENT PRIZE 2024

In addition to being a soprano, Christine Bach Tofft (born 1995 in Mørkhøj) also excels as a music educator. Since childhood, among other things, she has been involved in hymn singing due to her mother’s profession as an organist, and she has known that she wanted to pursue something in music. Today, as a music educator, she is particularly interested in the relationship between mother and child.

Her career took shape when Christine was admitted to the MGK (preparatory course for music conservatories) in classical singing, which provided her with a direction. However, she also had time to study religious studies at the University of Copenhagen for a couple of years before being admitted to the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2018 as a general music teacher. Later, she specialized in singing and music education. She sings regularly in Holmens Kantori and Vokalensemble as well as Musica Ficta, when she is not working in churches and music schools as a music educator.

The money accompanying the Léonie Sonning Talent Prize will be used for singing lessons and masterclasses abroad, as well as further education at the Children’s Choir Academy.
